Welcome to the Midd for the 2010 Season.
To keep this Newsletter as short as possible there are lots of references to NMCC’s excellent website www.northmiddlesexcc.co.uk. This contains stacks of Colts’ info, including:
* Fixture list and match timings/kit.
* Relationship between NMCC and The Pavilion
* One to one coaching
* Senior cricket at North Midd
* Coaching cards and session plans
subscriptions/registration forms/GIRLS SECTION
* Subscriptions for 2010 will be £40 for all Colts except those attending the Pre Colts (ie Under 6s and below born after 01.09.03) who will pay £2 per session. No match fees are payable for outdoor games (league, cup or friendlies).
* We need a completed form for all Colts (including Pre-Colts). Please complete the attached registration form and return it as soon as possible to Susie Nicoll (address on form).
* Cheques should be made payable to North Middlesex Cricket Club Limited.
* In relation to subscriptions/registrations please note –
* No Colt will be eligible for selection for any NMCC fixture unless their subs have been paid. If any Colt has problems making the payment please contact Susie Nicoll.
* Under Middlesex Colts Association Rules once a Colt is registered for one club he/she will not be entitled to play for any other Club in any MCA competitions for that season or the following indoor season.
* We already have a few young girl members and part of our Development Plan is to build up the girls’ Section. We intend to start with girls of around 9 and younger. Mike Harris is leading this initiative. If you know of any Girls who are interested in giving cricket a go please let Susie Nicoll know.
Donations
* The Club is always looking to improve the coaching and practice aids we can offer to Colts.
* With that in mind, any parents who would like to make a donation (however small) to Club funds are encouraged to do so. NMCC is a company limited by guarantee, which now has Community Amateur Sports Club status. This is akin to charitable status in that any donations to the club qualify for Gift Aid relief. The club gets an extra 28p for each pound donated
* Any donations will be most welcome. These donations should be in the form of cheques made payable to ‘North Middlesex Cricket Club Limited’ and also sent to Susie Nicoll with a completed Gift Aid Form.
Coaching/practice SESSIONS/HOME
* As for last year these will take place at North Midd at the following times -
* Pre Colts (born after 01.09.03) - Saturday mornings 9.30am to 10.30am
* U7s to and including U11s (01.09.98 – 31.08.03) - Saturday mornings 9am to 10.30am
* U12s to and including U15s (01.09.94 – 31.08.98) - Saturday mornings 10.30am to 12 noon
* U16s and U17s (01.09.92 – 31.08.94) - Tuesday evenings between 5pm and 6pm
* Please note that allocation of Colts to squads for practice sessions may take into account ability and experience as well as age. Please try to be at the Club 10 minutes before the allotted start time. Time is short and we are keen to start promptly.
* Contact details for Managers/Coaches of the various age groups will be published shortly on the Website.
* If the weather is doubtful on a Saturday morning, parents should check with the relevant team manager that the practice is definitely on before leaving their son/daughter at the Club. Parents should also be prepared to collect early if the weather deteriorates.
* Coaching cards and other materials illustrating the skills we teach the Colts are on the website so you can carry on practising at home.
COACHES/HELPERS MORNING
SATURDAY 17 APRIL 2010 START 10AM
* During the Winter 8 people attended ECB Level 1 or 2 Courses increasing our number of accredited Coaches to about 40 but we still need more helpers/coaches. Our regular coaches are often overstretched. If you will be watching your Colts playing/practising or taking them to and from matches, it is a small step to getting more involved. It is not necessary to have played cricket yourself and it’s great fun being part of our coaching team. If you are able to help (occasionally or more regularly) please make this known to your age group manager/coach or to Richard Nicoll.
* With this in mind we are arranging a pre Season Helpers’ Morning event. This will be an opportunity for Coaches to rehearse new drills and programmes and demonstrate to any interested parents/carers how they can help. The Morning will take place at our Ground and is scheduled to start at 10.00 and end around 12.00
* If you would like to attend this Event please let Susie Nicoll know by return email.
clubmark/SPIRIT OF CRICKET
* “Cricket is a game that owes much of its unique appeal to the fact that it should be played not only within its Laws but also within the Spirit of the Game”.
* This Spirit is a key element of ECB/Sport for England Clubmark accreditation which we achieved last year. As part of the Clubmark process we have published Codes of Conduct for players, parents/carers and coaches. These can be accessed on the Website – click on ‘Colts’ and then on ‘Documents’ Please read and live up to them – they are important for maintaining the culture of our Club and the game we all love. Any queries on anything about the Colts’ section please contact Richard Nicoll, preferably out of office hours. Enjoy the Summer and ‘Go the Midd’!
