North Middlesex CC Under 13s 2008 INDOOR CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to the boys that represented NMCC Under 13s in the Middlesex County Indoor cricket finals on Sunday April 6th and came back the CHAMPIONS.
We defeated our old friends, Wycombe House in the semi final scoring 169 for 3 wickets lost in our 12 overs. Zulfy (30) & Will Armstrong-Fox (32) were our retirees with Ali Napier (23) & Arthur Lewis (27 n.o.) making handy contributions as well as Wyc House contributing 41 extras. We kept them to 139 for 4 wickets, Nick Friend taking 2 wickets & Kyle Pittman 1 wicket in the only maiden over of the match. Ground fielding generally good though too many extras,36.
So, to Bessborough in the final who had beaten Ealing in their semi. Once again we were to bat first with Zulfy (31), Charlie Y-S (31) & Will Armstrong-Fox (25 n.o.) the main contributors plus a very generous 48 extras donated by the opposition. We posted 149 for the loss of 3 wickets off our 12 overs. The Bessborough openers both made their 30s, then Arthur took a great stumping off Nicks first ball to dismiss the no. 3, Zulfy ran out the dangerous looking Akshay, & Charlie bowled the number 6. The no.5 , Kishan also made 33 & when retired left the nos 7 & 8 at the crease requiring 10 runs to win off 5 balls. They scampered two runs for 4, until direct hits by Will A-F & Charlie left them all out, 5 runs short of the 150 required. Our much more disciplined bowling, giving away only 21 extras, was the difference. A really gritty performace by all.
Well done all who contributed during the season, going through undefeated.
