Sunny weekend - catch up on Midd news

At long last our Season kicked off in the sunshine this weekend.

Highlights -

  • Great to see so many Colts practising on Saturday morning. New Head Coach, David Robson, made an immediate impact spreading his high energy approach through the age groups.

  • Under 15 Max Harris on debut for the 2s in the afternoon taking 6 for 1 off 4 overs and demolishing Enfield 2s in the process.

  • Club skipper Tom Nicoll hitting 100 plus against Enfield 1s.

  • Excellent and well attended Players' re Season Supper on Saturday evening. Thanks to Mary Cracknell and Ed Lake for organising.

  • Three North Midd Colts - Joe Cracknell, Ethan Bamber and Luke Hollman playing for Middlesex Under 17s on Bank Holiday Monday. Luke warmed up for this with a hundred for Middlesex Under 15s on Sunday against Berkshire.

  • Midd Fixture Book published. Covering fixtures, stats and news from the 1s down to the Under 8s - great example of our One Club ethos. Thanks to Ed Lake and his Jarndyce team for delivering this on time.
Not such good news -

  • 1s on receiving end of amazingly aggressive and match winning 147 not out from Enfield's Aussie overseas (ex Big Bash). Hopefully we won't be up against him again this Season!

  • Weakened 3s lose away to Hampstead in low scoring game.
