The Midd's ET is one of 5 Middlesex Players selected to play for the London and East U17 team in this National Competition.

“Each place is richly deserved by the boys, and their dedication and commitment, along with the support they receive from their parents, clubs and schools, really is second to none.”
- Alan Coleman, Middlesex CCC's Academy Director

Ethan Bamber who started playing at the Midd when he was about 7 and now opens the bowling for our First XI is one of five Middlesex representatives in the London and East side at the annual England Development Programme Super 4’s competition. This is currently being held at the National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough University. Ethan and the other four representatives follow in the footsteps of Middlesex CCC’s Max Holden, Robbie White and Martin Andersson, who have all represented the side in this competition in previous years.

The other Middlesex CCC reps this year are Andrew Thomas, Jack Bruce, Alfie Duke and Rahul Wijeratne. The London and East side comprises young players from the counties of Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Essex and Middlesex, who will go head to head over this week against sides from the North, the Midlands and the South & West regions.

This is the fourth year of the annual Under 17’s EDP Super 4’s tournament which aims to provide an opportunity for players with the highest potential to showcase their skills whilst competing with and against other high potential players in an environment that will accelerate their technical and tactical development.

Middlesex CCC’s Academy Director, Alan Coleman, commented…
“The Super 4's will give our boys a great opportunity to test their skills against the other highest potential players in the country of their age.
“Many of our members will have seen the boys play in youth cricket and 2nd team games, and we hope that they can follow in the footsteps of Max, Robbie and Martin who all played in this competition before signing professionally with the club.
“I'm delighted that the work of the club and our Academy has been recognised with the inclusion of 5 players in the thirteen-man London and East squad.
“Each place is richly deserved by the boys, and their dedication and commitment, along with the support they receive from their parents, clubs and schools, really is second to none.”
