North Midd U13s - third best in the country!!

some electric cricket and performances - the Boys were brilliant
- Jonathan Francis

As Middlesex Champs, our U13s qualified for the National Finals through play off games held in Leicester earlier this year. The Finals were played in Birmingham yesterday (16.12.17).

An early start for the long cold drive to Birmingham was rewarded with some electric cricket and performances that the boys should thoroughly proud of.

Coaches Jonathan Francis and Adam Frais dragged the boys out of the cars into the AICE indoor cricket centre off the M6 to play the fully warmed up and eventual winners Long Eaton. Despite only managing a brief warm up we batted first and put on a defendable 106. It went to the last over only losing by 5 runs.

The next two games the boys found a new level in particular in the fielding. The catching and run outs put the oppo so far behind the rate with over 20 wickets for the Midd in both games.

The top two in each league played in the final and we missed out by a single point. Two more runs in the match would have taken us into the final.

We played off for third place and won convincingly again taking 30 wickets and making the two coaches and their parents chuffed to bits.

Our successful squad comprised -

Tom Francis (c)
Bishal Bidduth
Nikhil Perencherri
Will Frais
Sebbie Sydenham
Nico Smith
Raffy Hunt
Freddie Bonfield
