Some thrilling finishes including a rare away win at Ealing as skipper Parslow steers 1s to victory. KP hits 112 not out for 4s.

Midd 1s confined Champions Ealing to 192 for 9 in their 50 overs. Wicket were shared with Ravi Patel, Alex McQueen and Tom Nicoll taking 2 each. We passed the total in the 49th over with stand in Skipper Parslow on 47 not out. Other notable contributions from Liam O’Driscoll (44), Evan Flowers (28) and Ravi Patel (27).

Our 2s looked down and out chasing Ealing 2's 235 off 45 at the Midd (Connor Nurse 4 for 37). A fine partnership between Zulfy (66) and Joe Hewton (55) turned things around but when they fell, there was still much to do. Step up Elliott Lowe and Henry Howeld to take us home off – 8 required off the last over and we made it off the last ball.

More drama in the 3s. With Barnes bowler out for 104 (Andre “the Doctor” Mishra 5 for 20) a comfortable victory was expected but wickets fell cheaply. We ended up winning by 1 wicket with Ed Lake the top scorer on 40 plus.

Another nail biter in the 4s. Skipper KP hit an unbeaten 112 to help set Hornsey 3s a daunting total of 267. They very nearly made it being bowled out for 261 on the 3rd ball of the last over. Phew!

Sadly the 5s just failed to make it 5 out of 5. Some promising performances in this game. Under 14 Gabriel Basden took 4 wickets and was on a hat trick twice. Olly Buxton took 3. Alfie Buxton (Under 15) and Will Frais ((Under 13) beat the bat regularly. Perivale 4s were bowled out for 156. The 5s top order collapsed losing early wickets to some early season shots. At 6 for not many we looked doomed but enter Olly Buxton who hit a magnificent 66 with contributions from skipper Martland and notably Will Frais who showed great maturity and skill in scoring 21. As so often happens we turned the game but then with victory seemiingly close lost wickets losing by just 7 to secure 2 losing bonus points.
