Juniors’ and Seniors’ practices remain on for the moment

Here is the Club’s message to all Junior and Senior Members sent on 14 March 2020 –

“We take seriously the risks to players and coaches from the Coronavirus and, therefore, we are monitoring the guidance being given by the government that is relevant to our activities.

For the time being, all our planned practice sessions are taking place as scheduled, as guidance from government has not recommended that such activities be cancelled. The Club is, of course, monitoring the situation and if/when that guidance changes, we shall send out further information.

Those attending practice sessions should make use of the handwashing facilities there – before, during and after the sessions, following the guidelines issued by the government on handwashing. Similarly, please avoid any unnecessary physical contact with one another.

Needless to say, anyone suspecting that they (or, if they are a parent or carer, a junior) might have symptoms of Coronavirus, they should not attend sessions until given an all clear to do.

To a degree, we will be ruled by any restrictions put in place by Hornsey School for Girls. We may well reach a situation where they close – or, indeed, wish to reduce access to their facilities.

Pre-season has been terrific so far, numbers have been encouraging and the atmosphere has been excellent. However, please remember that these have never been anything other than optional. Do not force yourself to come out of habit if you are uncomfortable in doing so and, as above, health and safety are all that matter.

To confirm the Junior Cricket4All Sessions planned for Sunday 15 March, Performance Squad Sessions on Monday 16 March and Tuesday 17 March and the Academy Session on Friday 20 March are all currently ON. The same applies to these Sessions in coming weeks.

Likewise, the Seniors’ session at Hornsey School on Wednesday 18 March (7.30pm – 9pm).

If any of this changes the Club will let members know.

As for other upcoming events – CricketForce Day (April 5), “Coaching the Coaches/Helpers” Evening (April 14), Club Quiz/Curry (April 17), First Juniors’ Practices (April 19), Seniors’ Season Launch (May 2), start of Senior Leagues (May 9), decisions on whether these go ahead will be made in due course."
