Great to see Max "Bomber" Harris being presented with his Middlesex CCC cap before his first T20 Blast game against Somerset at Lords on Friday 1 July – see the cover pic.
Fresh from taking 5 wickets for our 1s v Crouch End last Saturday, Max joined his Club mates Joe Cracknell and Luke Hollman in the Middlesex line up. Unfortunately, high flying Somerset won the match by 2 wickets on the 4th ball of the final over. Max took 2 wickets in his 4 overs including that of Rilee Rossouw the South African international – here is Max being congratulated by Joe after taking his debut wicket.
Luke with 41 and Joe with 25 were major contributors to Middlesex’ total of 160 with Max being 7 not out at the end of the 20th over.
On Sunday 3 July our 3 boys were in action in the T20 Blast again this time against Gloucestershire in Bristol. Batting first Middlesex posted 163 for 4 with Luke in at the end on 6 not out. Max took 2 for 26 off 3 overs but Gloucestershire sneaked home with just 1 ball to spare.
In between these 2 games, Ethan Bamber, our other Middlesex pro, was helping our 1s beat Teddington at the Midd on Saturday by 31 runs to take us 9 points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Ethan took 3 for 33 including the wicket of the dangerous Abhishek Jhunjhunwala who was caught behind by Henry Howeld for a golden duck. A longer report on this match will follow in another Article.
No article about these 4 boys would be complete without a “then and now” sequence so here it is.
