Set out below is the message sent to members yesterday. Please note that there will be some changes to the North Midd Rules as emailed to members. These changes will take effect from and including Saturday 23 May and are flagged in the message below
"Hi all,
Some better news - ECB have now permitted limited use of our nets and other outdoor cricket facilities for exercise. This will be subject to compliance with guidelines and conditions designed to keep everyone safe. The purpose of this email is to explain how these will be applied at North Midd.
Which nets/facilities may be used?
• Two of the three permanent nets being the nets nearest to and furthest from the entrance to the nets. The middle net must not be used – this is to preserve social distancing.
• The two non turf wickets on the Squares – the mobile net cages will be positioned around these.
• Designated parts of the outfield.
When will these be open?
Starting on Sunday 17 May -
• Weekends - 10am to 8pm
• Weekdays – 3 to 9pm
NB - We may try and open up bookings for longer in half term week (i.e. next week) subject to demand.
Who can use the facilities?
All Junior and Senior paid up Members who have booked a slot.
How do I book?
• By reserving your required time slot on our Google Sheets’ booking system
• You are allowed one net booking per day per member (as from and including Saturday 23 May members will also be limited to 3 bookings in any 7 day period inclusive of any sessions booked for private coaching with James Parslow)
• To access the booking system and make bookings please use the link which we have emailed to all on our membership lists. If you haven't received that email please let us know by emailling nmcc.colts@gmail.com.
Please remember that only paid up members may book.
What rules and regulations must I comply with?
• North Midd’s Rules are attached.
• These refer to the ECB Guidance which is attached and must also be complied with.
• Please note that by making a booking you will be confirming that you have read and will comply with these two documents.
Club Rep
• We are required by the ECB to have a Club Rep on site at all times to ensure the Guidelines are complied with. This is quite a commitment for the Club.
• If you would be prepared to act as a volunteer Club Rep for any number of hours per week, please can you let us know by emailing nmcc.colts@gmail.com. It would be a great help to us. We will try to provide volunteers with an element of priority net booking access.
Is there a booking fee?
• No, use of the nets is free to paid up members.
• As noted above, one of ECB’s requirements is that a Club Representative must be on site whilst the nets and other facilities are available. This will involve the Club in extra cost so any donation (perhaps £5 per booked slot) you might feel able to make will be much appreciated, but there is no obligation to do this - any donations should be sent electronically to the usual Club Bank Account. The Club is hugely grateful to Members who have continued to pay their subs to help us through this crisis.
Will the Pavilion be open?
• No, so there will be no access to the toilets, showers or changing rooms.
• The car park will also be closed so drivers will have to park off site.
You will see from the booking system that for now we have allowed bookings until Friday 22 May. We have commitments from Club Reps to cover that period. We hope to be able to extend the booking period beyond that date soon once we have extended Club Rep coverage.
We are all in new territory here so it may well become necessary to modify these arrangements from time to time. "
