In a match limited to 16 overs, Hampstead batted first and posted a decent 109 after some good bowling that unfortunately wasn’t backed up in the field. Bish and Nikhil opened well again with some economic bowling. Notable performances included Nico’s first time as skipper and Freddie’s and Tom's bowling.
In reply The Midd opened with Tom Francis and Sebbie Sydenham chasing seven an over. Sebbie had probably his best innings for the club playing beautifully through the line and running well ending up unbeaten on 47 off 44. Tom played a great knock too as the pair put on a hundred opening stand.
They crossed the line with two overs to spare and the season is well underway.
Lime and Soda moment – Freddie’s improved bowling, having the courage to float the ball up in the last over of Hampsteads innings against their top batter and getting three dots.
Man of the Match – Sebbie – wonderful stylish innings
