PH 129/2 off 20 North Midd 133/5 off 19.4 North Midd win by 5 wickets

With only four first team regulars to call on we were ably bolstered by George J, U12s (Sohan and Jasper) and U13s (Mingus, Theo, Linus, Oliver BC) making their debut for the undefeated U15s.

PH won the toss and The Midd were fielding first again.

Tom and Harry opened against the strong PH openers and they played beautifully making the most of the bad ball. Mingus took over from Tom and had the batsmen struggling being very unlucky to only take the one wicket. The one wicket was a peach drifting in before cutting away and clipping the edge, gratefully pouched by George behind the stumps. Mingus delivered his full complement of four for 23 and was the pick of the bowlers. The PH opener went on to score a solid 69 whcih could have been more if he had kept the strike. Nico chipped in with some decent leg spin collecting the only other wicket of the innings. Olly Buxo- Copp did take a superb catch off a no-ball on the boundary and although he was disappointed that it didn't count he saved six runs....... as you see from the result a small but very important moment - well done Olly.

The Midd were set 130 to win. Tom and Sebbie opened and set off well putting on 37 for the first wicket. George J had a brief stay and was replaced by Jasper. With two Sydenhams at the crease, who needs Alex. The ran well but had the odd scare. Asked why he was calling some risky singles Jasper poitned out that 'I'm not used to running the extra three yards.' a good point well made. The Sydenhams put on 52 and the pitch remained at 22 yards but Jasper launched one to the long boundary. Jasper did depart to be replaced by Linus who kept giving Sebbie the strike and also managed some strong blows of his own. Sebbie left after a controlled innings of 39 and Nico marched to the crease. Nerves had started to kick in but it was pleasing to see Nico club a quick 16 off 8 balls including a ramp to the fine leg boundary - cheeky! The game was won with two balls to spare and The Mighty U15s top the league by 23..... Four games left and need three wins from four, so a long way to go.

Man of the Match - Mingus - excellent spell

Lime and Soda Moment - Mingus and George - nice work boys
