Outing number two for the U13a's at Hampstead. Luckily the cool, overcast morning conditions improved steadily as the day went by to give us another bright but cold April game of cricket.
Cameron North captained and lost the toss, Hampstead electing to bowl which given the prospect of early fading light meant that if we could take the game deep it wouldn't be easy to bat.
Cameron and Euan continued their good start to the season with a steady opening partnership of 37 before Cameron fell. Euan (17) continued to plug away on a slow pitch seeing Jonah, Ben, Sach , Tom and Akash all come and go without any success. Top scorer was a chap called extras (54) which gave us a score of 113/7 off 18.
Tom and Ben opened up with the bowl, Ben removing their opener curtesy of a sharp head high catch at point by Uday. A decent partnership for Hampstead was broken by some excellent fielding resulting in two runs out and some sharp wicket keeping by Euan removed another, stumpted off Robbie. A couple of dropped catches during this period gave Hampstead the chance to push on to the end with an over to spare.

Highlights were some great fielding from Uday, more runs at a good rate from Cameron. Euan's wicket keeping was sharp throughout just 6 byes and a quality stumping.

All in all, a bit of a missed opportunity in truth. Hampstead gifted us 54 runs and once again we failed to turn this into a great score. A reasonable effort with the bowl and some great fielding took the game fairly close.
