North London had clearly learnt from the last match – they brought out the big guns – their girls were literally twice the size of some of ours.
Not to be intimidated, the girls sent Graham back to the Mid to retrieve their favourite plastic bats.... "the orange ones with the grips, be quick!".
Another fantastic performance with the bat. Every pair scored runs and even when Millie was held back from her usual baseball boundary finding balls in the first over she swiftly made up for it in the next over she faced. Proper cricket shots and clever placement of the ball from Isla and Angelia proved you can play cricket with a plastic bat.
NMCC rose to the challenge and placed a very competitive 119 on the board.
North London were never really in the chase. There was two wickets and a superb piece of fielding resulting in a run out for Zara.
Wickets for Amelia Angelia and an excellent stumping from Millie.
But the story of the day was the debut of 5 U11s for whom this was their first league U13 match. They partnered the more experienced girls beautifully and demonstrated all they had been learning at practice in the field with quick hands and backing up.
All in all it was too much for NLCC who only managed to post 53 from their twenty overs.
