Fantastic morning of cricket for the girls at Highgate
After the disappointment of the 30 minute deluge which forced us to abandon the game on Thursday evening it was great to arrive at Highgate with the sun out and the ground looking great.
North Midd took to the field batting first with Isla and Amelia making a good start to the innings.
Highlights were some super hits from Zara, Amelia and Lauren who launched the ball over the midwicket boundary with one bounce. Some great running between the wickets led us to a score of 72.
Highgate started well. Isla picked up a couple of wickets early on and bowled quick. A debut wicket for Arianna and 3 really tight overs from Naisha. Highlight of the 2nd innings was a great catch from Amelia! Our 3 wicketkeeping volunteers, Emily, Sasha and Cecily did a great job with Cecily almost taking a catch off the edge.
In the end, we lost out by about 20 runs. We need to focus on our bowling to reduce our extras count but irrespective, there was lots positives to take from the game and a great spirit throughout.
