Middlesex Cup

Sunday saw the Midd pitted against fellow Prem Club, Shepherds Bush in the quarter final of the Middlesex Cup which we won for the first time in 2017. Batting first the Midd amassed an impressive 361 for 5 in 45 overs with Evan Flowers hitting 131 not out and James Parslow a rapid 107 not out. Sadly the She Bu keeper suffered a nasty injury trying to catch a nick off Evan’s first ball and ended up at the Whittington – we wish him a swift recovery. The Midd offered a sub fielder but this was not allowed by the umpires apparently.

She Bu’s reply started well but faltered with the introduction of spin. Izhan Khan on his 1s debut took an impressive 5fer. Tom Nicoll and Henry Howeld chipped in with wickets and the innings was finished by Skipper Hughes taking a rare wicket with his off spin.

Midd won by 210 runs and now play Brondesbury in the Semis – date and venue to be agreed.
