Hollman wins Premier League and Young Player of Year Awards

Outstanding Season for North Midd
- Bob Baxter

A large Midd contingent attended the Middlesex County Cricket League's 46th Annual Dinner at Lord’s Nursery Pavilion on Friday night. We filled 3 tables.

North Midd received special mention from Chairman, Bob Baxter, for an outstanding Season – Ethan’s exploits for Middlesex First XI, his and Luke’s appearances for England’s U19s, 3rd in Prem, losing finalists in County T20 and Middlesex Cup, winners of the 2nd and 3rd XI Premier Divisions (yet again).

The Award presentations started well for us with Luke Hollman winning the League’s Young Player of the Year Award – a major honour and well deserved. Later Nick Brand was presented with the 2nd XI Championship Trophy and Will Cracknell with the 3rd XI Championship Trophy.

The presentations ended on a high note with Luke back on the stage to receive the Premier League Player of the League Award for 2018 based on umpires' marks. The Prem includes many star players so this is a major honour. Luke’s achievement is even more impressive given that he was forced to miss at least 4 Premier League matches because of England U19 commitments. Whilst we might have expected the Young Player Trophy, this one came out of the blue. Luke received a standing ovation from the Midd crew and many others in the audience.
