7. Clothing and Equipment (including Helmets)

CLOTHING

A range of North Midd playing, practice and leisure wear for boys and girls can be bought online. There is a link to the ‘Club Kit Shop 2024’ at the top of the Home page on our website.

For matches we encourage all players to wear a cricket shirt with a North Midd logo.
The boys teams will wear white kit (except at under 17 where coloured kit is worn – the Age group manager will be in contact on this).

We will have limited stock of NMCC cricket white shirts and trousers as well as caps for sale at the start of the season (on Sunday mornings).

Girls across all age groups should play in burgundy shirts, which can be purchased from the club shop via this link.

They should also wear black tracksuit bottoms (there are some in the club shop but any will suffice). Where an additional top is desired for warmth we would suggest a black performance top, which can be purchased from the club shop via this link.

If cost is an issue then any black top will suffice.

EQUIPMENT

To comply with ECB requirements:

All boys require their own abdominal guard (aka “a box”) when playing or practicing with a hard ball (usually from U9 upwards).

All players under 18 must wear a helmet with a faceguard or grille when batting against a hard cricket ball in matches and in practice sessions.

Wicketkeepers should also wear a helmet with a faceguard when standing up to the stumps.

Protective equipment (excluding boxes) provided by the club will normally be available for juniors for teams up to U13, although many juniors have their own pads, helmets and gloves as well as bats. If you do not have your own equipment, you should check there will be some available from the club with your age group manager.

The latest British Safety Standard for helmets is BS7928:2013 (for both adults and juniors). For more information on this please visit the ECB's online guidance. This ECB note includes guidance on buying helmets.

Please ensure all personal equipment (including bats) and clothing is clearly marked with the owner’s name.
